What Ryder Ministries is all about.
When Robert was 13 he was sitting in the balcony of a Baptist Church. He recalls that the Pastor was finishing his invitation when all of a sudden something literally picked him off of his seat and led him down the long isle of the Church to get saved.
The Pastor and elders of the church prayed with him to be saved. I knew something happened to me, but I was young and scared, and not really knowing what happened to me, but something did. (We know now that it was the Holy Spirit that led him down that long isle). I knew I was a Christian but I really didn’t make the commitment.
Then at the age of 16 is when I got cancer. I was playing football and was tackled and a lump formed on my right thigh. It wasn’t until I was waiting for my biology class to begin when two boys were rough housing and one was slammed into me and his pencil went into my arm and broke off. So at the Dr. office I showed the lump to the Dr.. After x-rays and many tests I had surgery to remove the lump. It wasn’t until after the first surgery that I was told I had cancer. What a shock! Because now I’m going in for a 2nd surgery to remove most of my leg muscle, etc. to make sure they got it all. Praise the Lord they got it all!
It wasn’t until I went through a divorce in 1984 that I came to realize that Jesus was real. I was depressed and crying about it when a friend called and suggested that I pray about it. I really did not know how to pray, but I did. As I was praying the Lord spoke to me audibly and said it would be all right. It was when I awoke in the morning that I realized that I knew the Lord had spoke to me that night. I remember saying,”The Lord spoke to me!” and that’s when i felt him come into me with a swoosh. Then I knew for sure that I was saved and that Jesus Christ is alive and real! I was definitely saved!
From that moment I knew I had to serve the Lord! I was without a job and almost broke. So I prayed again and the Lord spoke to me behind my ear and told me where to go for work. Little did I know that he was sending me to a Christian work place. There I grew in knowledge of the Lord. I read my Bible and began to understand the scriptures. (With the Lord’s help).
Shortly after that I got Baptized in the Holy Spirit and I got my spiritual language and speaking in tongues!
I then met Evangelist Charles & Frances Hunter in 1987 and was thrust into the ministry. I began to minister to others and the Lord was healing many people through me. The anointing began to grow and grow! People began calling me to come to their homes asking to be healed. When I got there there were crowds up to 30 people sometimes that all wanted to be healed in Jesus name and they all were healed!
I went to the Philippines in 1988. I taught and conducted two major healing explosions there. On the way back the Lord spoke and said to continue. Which I did! So in 1989 I had my first healing explosion in the states.
Then in 1991 Ryder Ministries was established as a 501 c3 tax exempt ministry with 5 board members which is the covering for the ministry. They pray and hear from the Lord for the ministry direction.
In 1991 I went to Honduras for the 1st National evangelistic census. In 1992 went to Denver and worked for Marilyn Hickey Ministries as a prayer warrior. Then in 1992 came back to Oregon and worked as an Evangelist holding several Bible Studies a week in near by cities. In 1993 traveled to Tijuana Mexico for another healing explosion.
Then from 1994 through 1996 I did many healing explosions and Bible Studies with teaching on how to heal the sick, spiritual warfare. We had up to 48 healing explosions. I also traveled to Toronto for their blessings.
1997 I was anointed and ordained as a Pastor of Ryder Ministries as the Lord directed. I was to open up a training center which is the church. I had from there 48 to 56 healing explosions some were held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, OR. Then in 1998 I invited Charles & Frances Hunter for our 57th Healing Explosion at the Convention Center. After that I went to South America with the Hunters to hold several healing explosions with them. Then in 1999 we held our 58th Healing Explosion. Also returned with my wife Miriam to Colombia South America to hold healing explosions there in several cities. The Lord did so many healing there we can not count them all!
Since then we have had many more healing explosions. Today we have held a total of 79! Praise the Lord!
I recently have traveled to South Korea and taught the Pastors there how to heal the sick and minister the Holy Spirit.
We presently are still teaching how to heal the sick. We also are doing what we learned in Toronto Canada about “Soaking in the presence of the Lord”. This is where you can have the Holy Spirit “rest on you”. Many have had some awesome experiences with the Lord.
